fuel pressure woes
got the shock of the week so far. Call ford and ask how much for fuel pressure regulator $$$ 311.50 ? for a piece of pot metal, brass plunger and steel spring, insane. Problem - fuel pressure 42 PSI at idle, dead head pump 95 psi. injectors resealed, no smoke. 42 PSI with regulator shimmed or without no difference. truck will start and run but snap and hold throttle and it will die. does any body by chance have the volume specs for one these pumps ?
thanks for any help or ideas. 2001 PSD |

fuel pressure appears to be to low. I am still a rookie, but I just had same problem. Fuel pressure should be around 60 or so psi. Mine now is around 70psi. You can take the 3/4 brass plug off the side of the fpr, remove spring, and put a bb to shim spring and it will increase your fuel pressure.
