My 2000 F350 7.3L keeps going dead. A few days ago I drove it down the road(just like normal) and all of a sudden the engine shut off and I couldnt get it to crank up again. It was sort of like it was out of fuel. Well after sitting for 10-15 minutes I tried again and it cranked up, but then went dead again after about 4-5 minutes. It will start with no problem but ALWAYS goes dead after a few minutes. Can anybody here help me? I really dont have the $$$$$ to put it in the shop. Somebody told me to drop the tank and clean the socks out, but if it was clogged it wouldnt start period, right? I NEED HELP ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like the CPS

If you know someone with a scanner like an Autoenginuity they can pull your codes.
Post your location and maybe someone near you will help out. Good luck. I suspect the CPS also based on what you say. |

They are actually recalled parts. If you can get the truck to them, they should do it for free, if not i think its around $100

Really? It is $28 at my local Autozone, believe I will do it myself.
