After doing research here on the forum I concluded that the problem with my truck was the IPC. I always allow the truck to run 10-15 minutes before I take off. And when it started sput and sputtering it'd wait until I was 8 or 10 miles from the house. It didn't do it all the time. Once it shook so bad I thought the front end was going to come off the truck. Finding this forum and reading the threads that sounded like my problem helped me find the problem. The SEL would show intermittently. I had the codes pulled even though there wasn't a light at that time. The codes that came up were P1211 and P1280. (Parts people don't know diddley about codes and their puters won't give you the right reference to parts replacement.) I checked this forum for the codes and read.
I found my sensor on EBay and only paid $86 with shipping. Installed it this afternoon and took it out for 2 test runs. Runs like it did before it started acting up.
The tell-tale for the replacement of the IPC is rough running, no to little throttle response and light oil leakage from the IPC connector( I found this after reading a thread on the IPC).
