High engine oil temps
I have been trying to figure out why I have high engine oil temps and am at a loss.
Driving down the freeway unloaded, I see oil temps of 240*. I have verified that with my scanner AND also shot the HPOP resivour with a thermal laser gun and it also was 240* so that tells me its not my EOT sensor. At the same time, I shot the oil cooler and it was about 237*, the oil pan was about 210*. I got a temp of 184* on the upper radiator hose and the lower was 145*.
I have a new motor with about 5000 miles on it, my oil cooler was new when engine was built. My setup is the same as it was last year when I saw temps of 205*.
Looking for a little help.
