Uhh... I might tell you to use dynamite. I got a call last week from someone with a problem....

Glad the boroscope got the job done. When you need them, you really need them. So what piece actually broke and fell? Maybe im missing something obvious, but I have no clue what thingy-ma-jiggy your talking about. The actually dipstick broke?

there is a nut and the center piece. that center piece only comes out from the inside. that is what fell in the pan.

just an FYI incase someone else has this problem and wants to try the same method, you can get one of those at Home Depot, they carry either Milwaukee or Ridgid brand, not sure which, maybe both brands.
Even saw Harbor Freight sells their cheap own version now.
