COOLANT? RED? GREEN? change for cat elc

iv been reading some threads about changing the coolant , my truck is on 105k i know no history about it except that it has green coolant in it but on the build year (2002) vin code the 11th didgit is `E`which should have gold coolant going by what iv been reading, so im prusuming that it has been changed at some point, the other problem is im in scotland in the uk so "of the shelf" wall mart is not an option, what i can get is Caterpillar Extended Life Coolant , but it is red, Caterpillar use the acert engine which also has the heui injectors with very similar internals, brass, alloy,, sensors, etc, the only thing i can see being a problem is the cavitation build up protection layer build up internaly, if its got green in it and i flush it out then put CAT EC-1 in it which is red how many times do you guys think i need to run it with CAT EC-1 then flush it out again to refil? im unsure how long it takes for the cavitation build up protection to wear off,? appreciate anybodys 2bucks worth, gaz...

From what I have learned all coolant is universal. We only use the Cat ELC at work on machines that are under warranty. The main thing is to test your coolant for the correct levels of nitrate, pH and freeze point.

I am going to flush out my system and put in the CAT ELC premix extended life stuff.

thanks for the reply tdeal823, i have flushed out the green stuff last weekend , dropped the bottom rad hose, flushed thru the engine with garden hose on full and put in the cat premix in, hope it is ok, started using the cat oil as well .. gaz...

The CAT ELC EC1 premix can also be had in a gallon concentrate if your levels are off.
whats the price on the cat oil?
I'm switch back to rotella T on the next oil change.

the price of the oil? you want it in ££ ? i have a buddy that works for cat, iv no idea what $$ it is for you guys , there is no rotellaT here or amsoil so i am just finding the most compatible oil for the psd i can get my hands on want to make this new set of injectors last as long as pos... gaz...
