The noise is killing me!
My front axle is also grinding however i just replaced both of my wheel bearings and ball joints to eliminate that , is there such thing as an Axle bearing?

THERE IS OUTER AXLE BERINGS, ALSO CARRIER BERINGS THAT THE RING GEAR IS BOLTED TO,THAT THE SPLINED END OF THE AXLE RIDES IN. ARE YOU SURE YOUR HUBS ARE NOT THE CULPRIT, TO THE GRINDING? IF THERE TAKING A S**T , THEY WILL START DETERIORATING RAPIDLY. HOW OLD IS THE TRUCK , WERE YOU RECENTLY IN THE MUD ??

i had the hubs locked unknowingly for a while and the truck was not in four wheel drive. could this be the culprit?
