You don't have to remove the driveshaft. There are a couple of stock nuts you have to take off. It is very straight forward and shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to do. I don't have pics but I did mine in about 5 minutes. Look at the stock one and you'll see a couple of nuts that have to come off to get the bracket out. You might want to get a jack to support the driveshaft while you do it.

Ok how did you press the carrier bearing off. You have to remove the driveshaft. There is no other way to do it. Remove the driveshaft, press the bearing off and press the new one on. This ensures the driveshaft stays in balance. |

On my 01 crew cab short bed 4x4 I removed the front 1/2 of the rear drive shaft from the truck. Their are two bolts for the bearing mount that that have to come out The u-joint bolts are 8mm and the flange to transfer case bolts are 12mm 12 point. Once you have it out their is a nut holding the yoke on be care removing it the threads stripped out of the nut on mine . Remove the nut and the bearing will slide of it is not pressed on. Install new one and reinstall the shaft. Hopes this helps.
