same here! o2 crew cab. im almost certain its the carrier bearing. but when im on the high way at about 60mph and let of the gas it will make a roaring sound... has brand new wheel bearings, ball joints and all new u-joints. ive decided to get a single piece rear drive shaft built. with 11 inches of lift the angles arn't right with the carrier bearing. has a drop bracket and spacers but i still think a single piece would be better. ha ha BOOK!

Hey guys, I got the same thing and here is what I know. Chamberlain79 it looks like your truck has a bit of a lift on it. I have a 4inch with blocks in the rear. That roaring sound could be an out of balance issue in your drive line. Your carrier bearing, the bearing that holds the first section of your drive shaft after the transfer case should have a drop bracket between the mount and the bearing.Sometimes that rubber bushing in that bearing isnt sandwiched in there tight enough and lets it vibrate some. Another thing is to make sure your driveline angle is correct. The angle from the transfer case to your rearend shoul be somewhat straight. No weird angles. It could also be axle wrap. At the higher speeds your rear springs start vibrating and sound like a roaring sound or like meaty tires on the road. All from a lift, again if its lifted. Thats what I got!!

I beleive my vibration is a tire and the noise is the front sway bay bushings. I had the tires balanced and one had to have 14 ounces of weight added to it. It vibrates some still but not as bad.

Would the front u joints make a vibration if the truck is in 2 wheel drive and the hubs are unlocked? Does the front driveshaft spin when the hubs are unlocked and in 2 wheel drive?
