Front hubs

I know this is gonna sound lame. My front hubs wont unlock. Are they automatic? The arrow points to a dot but it wont move from there. They "look" like they woudl unlock by twisting the center part but they dont. Do I need to use a wrench. inever had to do that before. Also I have a clunking sound when I do a U turn. Hub going out or is that what a auto lockign hub does?
Sorry my other trucks I had to get out and lock the hubs myself. the clunk is somewhat what a CV joint woudl sound only not as fast or sharp sounding. I looked unde the truck all the U joints seem fine nothing seems loose. The truck wasnt abused. My broi in law is still here and he has no idea what it is. Im only the second owner and I know the truck was NEVER off road. not even once.
thanx for any answers the truck is a 99 f250 diesel SD

they are prob sticking ...its a common problem with these.....what you can do is take them off ....just take the snap ring off and slide them off....stand them up and pour oil in them and let it sit for a while ....dump it out and try turning them to see if they are locking and unlocking.....if that doesnt work then i say get some warn hubs....good luck

Yeah they stick a lot. I'd just save up and get some Warn hubs.
