steering problem!

so i was driving home from the fair last night and made i right turn and my truck started to pull really hard to the right. but when you correct it, it would pull really hard to the left. so i kept driving it and if i could keep the wheel slight to the right it would pull to the left. but if it it was slight to the left it would switch and pull really hard to the right. i did check my linkage and that all seams tight. I then tested the u joint on the front end. if i jack up the truck and turn the right wheel wheel slight to the left or right it dosent matter, but will just the wheel hub locked in but in 2 wd it the wheel couldnt make a full roataion with out binding up on the drivers side, pass side was fine. so i went out and bought 2 new wheel bearings new u joints for both sides and a power steering pump. Mine leaks a bit here and there. My question is will those u joints cause that to pull hard both ways or can a bad gear box cause that as well. i am going to rip into it and being im in there if its worth it id replace it.

If the u-joint is frozen, it can and will definitely cause that problem.
