Metallic Sound from front end
Posting this for my dad. His truck, 02 F350 with 275k. The front end recently started making a metallic screeching sound when driving as well as vibrating at around 45-50 mph.
I THINK the screeching is coming from the locking hubs, they are worn out and the passenger side one won't even turn and is stuck in the LOCK position, however I could be wrong as to what is causing that sound.
The vibration I have no idea. Front bearings seem okay and there is no play in the wheel when lifted off the ground. With it being a CCLB I was figuring it was just doing the weird vibration that these trucks are known for with being so long. However, it has never done that before. Also rotated the tires and this made it a little better but it is still noticeable.
Just looking to find out what is possibly wrong with the truck and seeing if it is something we could fix ourselves before sending it to the shop to be fixed.
