Tranny/ t-case what do you think??

I started noticing a lot of slop in my drive line the other day and chalked it up to a bad universal. Got a ways down the highway and I heard a loud bang. After that, any time I would give it any throttle there would be a loud grinding and no go. I tried limping it home but ended up stranded on the side of the road as the problem progressively got worse. It was doing the same thing in all gears as well as 2wd/4wd.. Any ideas? 2000 f-350 drw 6 spd manual.

Thanks for any input
