Driver's side hub chatter and growl

Ok guys, so here's my problem. It all started with some chatter coming from the front drivers hub. Sounded kinda like a rock in a coffee can. So, I replaced both hubs with some Mile Markers. Still have the occasional chatter. and lately have been getting a growling noise from time to time. It also only does this when the hub is locked in. When it is free spinning there are no issues. The truck is an 01 Super Duty with 168 kmi on the clock. Any help you guys could give me would be awesome.

Check the u-joints on the front axel and on the drive shaft going to the front end for play.Could also be a wheel bearing or the ring and pinion gears on the front axel.
