intermittent LF vibration

Every so often i'll hit a bump with the left front and i'll feel a vibration like a bad hub bearing, and then i'll go over another bump and the noise/vibration will go away. The truck has new locking hubs and i even drove it without the hubs on the truck. Any ideas?

Try locking the hub IN (so the axle turns with the tire and the needle bearings aren't turning) and see if it still happens...

I also pried both front axles and they have a lot of up and down play.

Yea, they're actually supposed to....

How about the U-Joint itself? Is there slop in it?

Did this happen before you changed hubs? I'm not sure what went "POW"??? What happened?

i checked all my work trucks and the up-and-down play on the axle is nothing compared to what mine is doing. No play in the axle u-joints.
