What else to look for in a driveshaft replacement?

7.3 dually w/ about 150K miles -
I could hear my U-joint going so I took it in. During the process they munged the driveshaft and now are replacing the entire driveshaft NEW to the tune of about $1,000 "couldn't find a used one in three states". They also said the rear seals are leaking.

Is there anything else they should look for (besides the bottom of my wallet?)

They SEEM trustworthy.
