Need help bad! Stuck side road.

I was driving the truck, then it got a dead pedal. I called the guy and he said check fuse 45. It was blown, I replaced it. Drive about 15 miles and then the tranny feels like it shifts up down up down then no pedal.

I pull over and 1,2 and reverse work but not drive. Then a few minutes it does. I drive 280 miles and the tranny just feels like its Doing the same thing and then O/D light flashes on and off and won't stop.

I have front drive shaft off because it won't come out of 4wd. The fuse looks almost burnt again. It's a 10 fuse and that's what I put there. What else could be going wrong??? I'm stuck. Literally.

This is my first ford and a brand new tranny and motor has 67k miles. I know nothing about fords but I am a little mechanically inclined.

2002 7.3l huge lift, tires etc.

Pull the steering column cover off and see if the wires that come out of your gear shift handle are chafed or one is broken.

That's weird. When I click on it, it downloads the PDF.

Type into google "transmission shifter lever chafe repair" and it will be the first thing that comes up.

My guess is your wires in the overdrive toggle switch are touching together causing shorts. Same problem with mine but tranny still worked correctly, had the small wires in the toggle switch touch and killed all dash controls and my throttle. Little electrical tape and a new fuse saved me.

Mission, how do I fix that? This is my first ford and I have no idea what and where parts are. I have put it in gear before and it has killed all lights in dash and a dead pedal before to and blown fuse
