4WD HELP!!!

Hi everyone i went to use my 4wd the other weekend and it would engage then disengage, it was like it was poping in and out of 4wd. My truck has the electronic 4wd selector. Any help would be great thanks..

why do you say it was like it was in and out of 4X4?

cause it would lock for like 2 feet then it would make a loud noise and pop back into 2wd. I know the transfer case is good cause it has the gearing of 4high and 4low, just doesnt get power to the front tires.

well I would at least pull the hubs and inspect
