Eating front hubs
My brother has a 2002 f250 that keeps eating up the drivers side hub? Any ideas what could cause this. The last one made it 1month and 1day. Thanks guys.

assuming your talking unit bearing and not locking Hub?
not much you can do to screw up the install other than buying cheap hubs Timken is OEM and recommended |

The passenger side hub and unit bearing are holding up fine we did both at the same time. But for some reason the unit bearing and lock out are not lasting on the drivers side.

if the outer axle shaft is worn where rides on the smaller bearing inside the wheel bearing hub assembly, or that small bearing is bad it will cause play in the axle shaft and will burn up hubs fast. I lost a warn hub that way in a month.

Shaft is not worn and i checked roundness with micrometer and its good there too. So Oriellys gave him another one under warranty they said if it goes out again they will give him a motorcraft one to try. So i guess we will wait and see
Thanks guys |
