99 F350 won't go into gear unless overdrive is "off"

Late '99 F350 4x4 7.3 TD. I have only had this truck a few weeks. I have noticed that it would really slam into gear sometimes at WOT. Always shifts nice if I don't have it to the floor. Today it slammed from 2-3 and then started free revving as if it was in between gears. I took my foot off the throttle for a couple seconds and it went back into gear. After this incident the trans will not go into OD. It just free rev's until I switch OD off and then it goes right into third. After I got home I put the truck in drive and it wouldn't go anywhere. Reverse is fine. If I put it in 1 or 2 it's fine. If I switch off OD it will work in drive. So basically, my trans only functions if I manually shift or if I turn OD off. No SES light and NO, my OD light isn't blinking.
