03 250. 4lo won't work already tried some things. help?

Truck in my sig. Yes it's a conversion with a PCS controller however, I am fairly certain the 4wd is still run through the 4wd module.

anyway on to the problem.

4hi works, 4lo does not and hasn't worked since I drove through a mud hole last year

Everything at the relays checks out correctly. fuses are all good.

switch seems fine. power gets to the 4wd motor as it should and engages 4hi correctly and disengages it correctly. No power is being sent to shift for 4lo.

the range sensor seems to be functioning properly as far as I can tell. the reverse lights illuminate when in reverse. HOWEVER, I can start the truck in any gear. That said, the transmission controller program knows exactly what gear I'm in when I have the controller connected to a computer.

I'm thinking the wire that tells the module the transmission is in neutral or the brake wire that tells the module the brake is depressed is broken or has a poor contact, but I don't know which wires those are.

I'm lookin for the wire colors from the range sensor, and what each does.
Can anyone point me in the right direction here?

This is getting pretty annoying as I don't know ford trucks as well as I would like. I'm becoming acquainted with the wiring somewhat quickly though
