My auto hubs are stuck locked

Ok, I jacked up the front of the truck today with it running and with the hubs on auto and switched to 2wd, the driveshaft spins with the wheel. When switching to 4 hi the wheel and driveshaft will not spin. When I switch the hubs to lock the same exact things happen on both wheels. So my hubs are obviously stuck locked. I couldn't feel any vaccum leaks. I havent heard of this, most guys say when the auto hubs quit working they are stuck free when in the auto position. I found some upgraded braided steel hoses which sound like a good idea. Is there any way I can take mine apart and maybe fix them, or will I need to get new ones. I found some Warn replacement hubs for arround $200 but I dont want manual hubs. I like the concept of the auto being that they are free untill you need them. I would hate having to get out of the truck everytime I want to switch to 4x4 so I would probably leave them locked all the time and drive arround getting bad mpg like now. Any thoughts?
