4WD not engaging
Wow, I think almost everyone has had a go at this topic already....let's do it again. I haven't seen a post yet that is showing the same symptoms I am showing. To start, it is a '99 F-350 DRW, 7.3L, auto with ESOF. When turned to either 4 HI or 4 LO the dash light does not come on and the transfer case is not engaging. I can hear the relays under the hood clicking (changed them and still same problem) and I can hear the TC motor turning- it sounds like it is engaging then disengaging, it does this 5 times in a row then stops. I will not hear those sounds again until I turn the key off then back on. I have had the TC motor off and am able to shift TC manually. I have 1 ohm resistance on the motor. Has anyone else experienced this? Any pointers would be appreciated.

Have you tried checking power going to the motor. Maybe your loosing power somewhere

I have tried but my meter does not read fast enough to get the voltage. You can hear it moving. It is almost as if it doesn't have enough power to cam it over inside the TC and when the voltage drops it goes back to 2WD. I have read that the TC relay module is behind the glovebox but I don't see it anywhere. Any other place they put these things?
