steering issues, need some help

I put a new steering gear in my truck about 6mo ago. Yesterday i moved my truck and the steering all of a sudden got rock hard. The pump wasn't leaking or whining. It was easier to turn left but not like it should be. Couldn't turn right at all. Once you start moving it steered fine. So i had a new pump installed today with NO change. I can't believe the shop said it was good to go. Anyways I called around and from what i gather most think that the steering gear went out again. I was moving my camper when this happened so there was extra stress on it. Anyone else have this happen? It was an oreillys reman gear. They are shipping me a new one tomorrow. Also now this new ps pump is whining a little like its trying to work too hard.
