About to get a 1999 7.3 2WD with bad trans

I'm still a newb when it comes to the 7.3. So I'm looking for some general info.

First the trans for this is a 4R100 yes?
Second, since it is just a 2WD, and i live in Michigan, I would like to convert to a 4WD. How difficult is this swap, and do I have to dig into the electronics?
Third, ideally I want a 6 speed powerstroke, how hard is that swap?

It's an extended cab long bed.

Any info would greatly help me out guys. Thanks

first question answer is yes 4r100 trans.

second and third question. answer is too much to swap to 4x4, not too much to make a 6 speed would be alot easier than the 4x4..

I personally would just look for a 6 speed 4x4 because you will spend more on parts and labor making the other what you want that would you could buy one for in my opinion....

Is the conversion to a 4x4 a plug and play thing where everything will bolt up, or is there welding involved? I've heard that it uses different brackets that are welded on.

Believe me I'd rather just trade it for a 4x4 rather than take all the time to swap things around, but since I have to swap the trans out anyway I figured, what the heck. If it's not all that expensive why not.

The 1999s are a floor shifter for the 4x4 right. Not a pushbutton?
