Slip Yoke Center Support

Did this quick fix project and thought i'll let you guys know about it (if you didn't already)

My truck kept making this thump noise after it started rolling on Drive about 2-3 mph. lately i also stated felling it right before i came to a complete stop. went under the truck to check the center support on the drive shaft and there was quite a bit of play.

So i decided to add a spacer on top between the rubber. just got a piece of flat bracket about 1/16" thick bent it into a channel and cut to size to straddle the rubber, then added about an extra 1/8" flat stock aluminum in between the channel and rubber. (please see pics) took it out for a spin and the thumping is gone. am sure any other combination would work, this is just what i had on hand. i already have a new support, this was temporary and a way for me to find out if that was the problem that i was having. hope this helps

Yeah, I heard that's the way to go. I forgot to mention that it also help if you feel vibration when stoping or slowing down from high speed.
