As the title says my limited slip doesnt work. My left tire never pulls and im tired of it. Whats the best solution? Rebuild it or put a locker in it?

Alot of people will say Detroit TrueTrac for good all around performance and daily driver. I have the same issue as you at times, but when I bite the bullet I will go for a Detroit full locker.

Depending on the condition of the clutches, you could try to resurrect it with an oil change maybe....
Does it have a lot of miles on it? Here's why so many LS diffs aren't doing their job, Ford puts So Much "Friction Modifier" in the fluid that the clutches slip too much. I think they do this to make Sure nobody complains about any chatter noise and to keep their warranty replacements down (replacement fluids do the same thing) ![]() So, if the frictions still have some "meat" on them, you can try changing the oil to one without the friction additive and add, a little at a time, the modifier separately until the chatter just goes away. It might be too late on a hi miles unit, or you could replace the frictions (clutches) and start off with the right combination of fluid/modifier. I don't think there IS an, inexpensive, locker and really, a locker in the rear it sometimes tough to put-up with...... |
