i have the stupid electric shift t-case in my truck and my electric shift motor and GEM modlule are both bad and there may be wiring problems. i need at least $1200 of parts to fix it, so i am wondering how diffulcult it would be to just put a manual shift t-case in insted. i talked to a couple people and they said that all i need to do is get a t-case and shifter out of a truck like mine and it should all bolt up. the only problem should be since it wont be plugged in, my 4x4 light on the dash wont work which doesnt matter to me. does this sound about right? does anybody have any other suggestions?

Thanks for the bump. I am still running in 2wd and trying to figure out how to do this. I don't see why it would be any harder than swapping with the manual t-case. Any info would be helpful!

well a buddy did it on his excursion but he also swapped in a six speed but the hole is already in the floor so i dont see why you couldnt just bolt her up
