rebuilding trans case

I am gonna split apart my t case this weekend. Are there any special tools required once i get it apart? There is a slim chance that i might not need to rebuild it, but just free up a stuck gear or shift fork. So anything special required to just split it open?

how did the t-case rebuild go? i believe i have a shift fork issue , i can't manually change t-case gear.
