HELP! no 4x4
ok today i was dropping off brush at the landfill, and it was muddy so i put it in 4wheel drive and backed up no problem. then when i went to pull foward i moved a little bit then got stuck! so i got out locked the hubs in and still nothing. so i had someone pull me out, then i drove up and back and still no 4x4, the front drive shaft turns but nothing at the wheels. anyone have this problem before or know whats wrong? i have the 4x4 switch on the fly.

Check the fuses first. After that check the range select motor (shifts transfer case).

the drive shaft could be spinning because the hubs are locked and not because the transfer case is engaged. have someone turn the switch in the cab and listen for the motor enaging the t-case. you may have a bad motor or fuse or wiring or connector etc etc. good luck

$160.97 at kragen o'reilly with abs. The cheapest place I could find.

To fix to factory gunna run you like 400 bones. All new seals and hub. Option B. Clean real good. Install warn hubs. About 200 for the set. No issues from now on.

put the truck in 2wd on the tcase lock the hubs then spin the front shaft by hand, if the shaft will no turn the hubs are locking fine. in this case you have a problem with your tcase..

Tcase is fine. OP already said pulled dside hub n full of mud. Seals toast, hub bad. Repace with warn. Cheaper n better. |
