Exclamation front axel??

New to this truck plz help.. I was replacing my hubs with warn hubs. Driver side went fine everything is tight.. The passenger side threw me a curve ball Seems like the axel shaft is way loose. I can push it in and pull out like a 1 1/2 to 2 inches. What would be the cause of this is there a clip inside the pumpkin to keep the axel from sliding out or something else. also i know i have to replace the axel seal because its tore up from te shaft flopping around and now its leaking fluid out of my diff.. Never done an axel seal on one of these and dont know whats causing the shaft to slide out so far any help would be appreciated and a list of parts needed to do the axel seal would be a help thk brian

Here is a good writeup on how to replace balljoints. You need to remove the axle when you replace balljoints so this will give you a good step-by-step on what to do. You just won't have to do as much. Ford Super Duty Ball Joint Replacement Procedure |
