Dana 80 trac lok - locking when hot

Newby question here...

I have an 01 F350 Crew Dually 7.3L Diesel with 205K miles on the clock.

Problem is the limited slip rear in the Dana 80 is locking up as the truck warms up.

When it's cold there's no chatter at all, drive it for a while and it click clunks and pops at the slightest of turns.

The back end is full of 75W140 Valvoline LS Synthetic...

It's particularly bad in reverse, feels like it's hopping!

R&P are shagged too, but that's a seperate issue.

Any ideas?

You're dead right!

I put an extra bottle of additive in the other day and all the symptoms disappeared.

I would've thought that after 200K miles the clutch packs in my Dana would be far too worn to give me any trouble, but apparently not...

Thanks,

Brooce

The only thing I seen wear in mine was the spider gears and bearings .
