ABS question

2001 excursion 4x4, there is a "block" in front of the drivers side battery, it has the two lines from the master cylinder running to it and three lines running to the back brakes and 2 to the front, what is the correct name for this? is it a Control module, or modulator valve.

we are having problems with the front brakes, either the drivers side is locking up or the pass side is not holding enough. replaced both calipers , brake lines, roters and pads flushed the brake fluid and power steering fluid and lubed the slide pins.
