Noob so need to clarify my thoughts

This is my first F250 diesel truck so I am learning the ways still. I have a noise coming from my passenger front. Have checked everything to make sure that the bearings are good and nothing wiggles or moves. I thought that maybe the auto/lock 4x4 cam could be bad so I followed guzzles guide to take it off. When I take it off the inner "gear" is very loose. I can wiggle it a half inch in any direction and also as I turn the cam in my hand I can hear something loose. I had the truck jacked up so I spun the wheel and no noise. I reinstall the cam and it makes the noise. So it is the cam gear rolling around that is causing the noise and is this replaceable? Thanks in advance for any thoughts or suggestions. The truck in question is in my sig.
