HELP! Slinger sleeve frnt axle missing???

Hey Guys.....just bought a 2002 F350 4x4 DRW and only drove it twice before left front side ground itself to death. Long story short...I have completely rebuilt the complete front Dana 60 axle - new hub bearing assys, upper & lower ball joints, axle seals and dust seals, rotors and brake pads. Upon reassembly of the left side, the diff shop helping me out noticed a part missing on the outer short shaft. He referred to it as a "slinger"....a small sleeve that goes on the outer shaft where it goes up to the yoke. The right side had it in place but he suspects someone has been into the front end and thats what caused the front hub bearing to fail. He explained that it helps keep dirt, debris and fluids out of the area where the hub bearing assy is. My dilemma is, Ford doesnt show a part number for it. They want to sell me a complete axle assy for $500.00!!!! I read thru Guzzlers article on hub bearings and in it he mentions an outer shaft for around $120. I called Ford and gave them the part number and they said $214.18 but they cant tell me if it includes the slinger I need. Can anyone help with some info???????

Many thanks!
