Bent Axle??? HELP me 911!!!!!

OK...so looks like I just bent my DANA 60 tonight driving home from work!!!

Anyone know where I can get a cheap/free Dana 60 w/ 3.73's in the Maryland Area??? What bent is the ball joint arm and the bolt for the lower ball joint is rubbing the u-joints for the front axle shafts! The top of the wheel is leaning inboard about 5 to 10 degrees!

Please HELP me!!!!!!!!

Chalk up another vote for me as "Hard Luck Case Of The Year" Two years in a row now!

NO idea...I was just driving home from work. It looks like the steering knuckle bent up, and the bolt for the lower ball joint is contacting the U-joint for the DS axle shaft.

Man, that sounds like broken ball joints, more than a bent axle. Have you got any pictures of said damage?

Yeah...but they are on my phone and my phone is retarded. Tomorrow at lunch I'm going to go measure the distance for both sides. Hopfully your right and it's JUST the lower ball joint. That would make more sense than the knuckle bending.

Yeah man, I've been running 60's for years, and other than a truck running into a field approach at 60mph with a full slip tank in the bed, I haven't seen one of these bend.

I have seen plenty of broken / worn out and separated ball joints over the years. and bad unit bearings as well.

Good luck

Update. Sorry I haven't posted more. Turns out a lot was bent and broken. Called my insurance company and they covered it all but my deductible. They bought a 70K used axle and they shop where my truck was did the work. Took 4 weeks to the day for me to get my truck back. I even got new rotors and brakes. (I DID have to pay for a new drivers side brake caliper and new pads, which INS was supposed to pay for.) Speaking of, I still need to take the old caliper back for the core charge. I got the cheap pads b/c I'm planning on getting SBC brakes all the way around in a year or so. I also need to get myself a new steering stabilizer next week. I'm also saving for new shocks all the way around. Need those too.

I've got my OLD 36" TSL Radials back on the truck and in 2WD it sucks...but in 4WD Brisco is unstoppable. Ask the patrons at Borders Book Store in Columbia, MD!!! LOL. I guess they SUCK at plowing here in MD b/c there was still piles of snow cover a lot of parking spots from the snow storm 3 weeks ago. It was a good parking spot that was still covered in 6" of snow so I just parked on top of it yesterday! LOL. Everyone was like, "WTF??!!! Is he REALLY parking there??!" I LOVE my truck.

And...Natalie is happy having "Da-da Tuck" back!
