99 F250 4X4 GEM codes - P1866 and C1728

I think I know the answer to this but wanted to get some other opinions.

I have been having intermittent issues with my 4x4 ESOF, it works sometimes and sometimes it does not. My Autonginuity shows this:

GEM/Central Timer
P1866 Transfer Case System Concern - Servicing Required
C1728 Transfer Case unable to transition between 2H and 4H

I think the motor that is on the transfer case is bad. Local dealership quoted me $580 which is outrageous!

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Forgot to mention, I inspected and reseated the plugs on the motor and checked the fuses.

Found a new (reman) motor. Napa or Oreilly part number 48-205, its 145 plus 27.80 core charge.

Fixed all my problems and saved me about 440 dollars Works like a charm, right in to 4x4 Hi and Right into 4x4 Low now.

I cleaned out the 2 connectors with air hose and brakekleen. Also found removing the transfer case protection plate made it about 100% easier to access the motor.
