Right rear grinding....ideas?
Just returned from a job pulling a 6k trailer about 200m round trip noticed under light acceleration when turning right there is a grind that can be felt seemingly from the rear of truck. no acceleration no noise. Parked in garage on the ground I push on the top of the tire several time to get the truck rocking and start to feel a clunk every time truck sways (like if you were to have your lug nuts loose and there was a 1/4" gap behind the wheel clunk). Checked the brake parts all seems to be tight can't make the sound from under truck holding on to break parts, so I pulled axle shaft and looked inside. nothing seemed out of the ordinary think this is wheel bearings? Left side makes the same noise when pushing tire just not as loud.

Could be, you need to jack it up and see if the play is in the bearings or not. The Ford/Sterling axle is prone to backing the nut off and if that's the case I use a center punch to ding it into the slot on the housing to hold it. They also make an aftermarket 2 nut setup for it like other axles use if you can find it that’s the way to go.
