Shimming aint helping!
Installed 4 inch lift this past weekend, and low and behold, after who knows how many different combinations of shims under the carrier bearing, I cant get even close to getting my vibration gone. Installed tapered 5 inch block in rear, and springs in front. I know everyone says to use flat block with 2 piece driveshaft, but its what was available to me. Am I missing something? The more I shim, the more the vibration changes "feel". Once I had an inch of shim in, the vibrations felt like more of a "hum" through the steering wheel. I dont know what else to try.

I agree with these guys. How much taper is in the blocks? When using tapered blocks you should be using shims with a slight taper as well.
Shoot a PM to DC Special with your lift info and he should be able to figure it out. Or if you PM me or call me tomorrow afternoon I should be able to dig it up |
