Can you hear the noise as you bounce on the bumper?

After a while of brain storming as to how I could keep this shaft stable. This is what I have come up with. I do believe this has helped me solve my problem, as I have not driven very far but the noise has not returned as of yet.

I have a 2000 f250 and mine started making noises at highway speeds like that if i hit a bump or the reflectors on the highway. It is starting to last a little longer and louder any luck on yours?

Also looking for updates...the anatomy of my 95 is a little different but I have a horrible grinding noise like yours as well. Curious as to what you found out

MIND WAS DOING that also, found out it was the rear of the front leaf spring bushings. and its a B%#@ to change. but i had no grinding and it felt like it was under my feet. and it took me for ever to finally locate the problem. What i noticed was shinny metal on that leaf spring hanger and pieces of rubber sticky out. I change the passenger side now i have to do the drivers side. Maybe this will help oh and it has to be pressed in & out.

Mine turned out to be an exhaust clamp on the downpipe. It worked its way loose and kept getting wedged against the firewall and tranny bellhousing and making a terrible noise. I got it out and bam, silent.
