Let break this down for you. How are you going to start a business without capital? You cant unless you go with the liberal philosophy that the government and the rich should just hand everything to you.

It takes capital to start a business. Are you going to work for someone that cannot pay you. It is not mandatory for your employer or the government to provide health care for you either. Thats why things like health insurance, and 401k are called benefits. They are not rights. Health care is a good or service just like any other industry in the country.

Here is the definition of benefit
2. a payment or gift, as one made to help someone or given by a benefit society, insurance company, or public agency: The company offers its employees a pension plan, free health insurance, and other benefits.

Here is the definition of rights
Rights are legal or moral entitlements or permissions.

Do you see the difference now.

Now as to you Lincoln and labor quote lets put this in simple terms

Lets use construction for an example. It should be simple enough. Say you are framing a houses for 2 different people. One guy is rich. One guy is poor.

You complete the job. The rich guy pays you for you materials and labor.
You complete the job for the poor guy at the end he says Oh im sorry I cant pay you. Then there you sit stuck with not only your labor costs. But also the cost of material you have invested in the project.

So in a sense you and Craig were both right. You can have labor independant of capital. But do you want to work for free.
