took nut off dipstick

well as it says i took the big nut off of the dip stick holder that goes into the side of the oil pan a couple days ago but i aint said nothin to no one but i was wondering if there was any way to check if i droped an o ring or anything?
when i took off the nut started flush with what it screwed onto and when i put it back on it was still flush
what do you guys think i should do
its been eating at me like crazy since i did it
dear god please dont tell me i have to pull my engine:doh ::doh :

i would have done the same
but that was the absolutly worst feelin i have ever felt since there is no way i could pay to have it done, i dont have the money to put a clutch in it that it needs

Did the flange come away from the pan? The o-ring SHOULD either stay stuck to the flange or the pan. I'm not sure what would happen if the o-ring came out, would it get mashed up and just drain out in pieces on the next oil change? If it gets sucked into the oil pickup, I don't think it would be a concern, since the pickup has a screen
