Where the heck is the location for scanning

I have looked high and low, under hood and under dash...Where the heck is the location for hooking up the scan tool to pull codes??????????? I'm reaching the end of my rope trying to find it. Thanks.

in the middle of the dash, i think directly below the radio, its pretty big, it should be easy to see.

It's a 1995 F350...I found a port mounted under the dash almost inline with the left edge of the glove box but my scanner will not match up...mabey this is it and i need an adapter??

that is your obdII port. the same code scanner you would use on a gasser will not pull the codes from your diesel. you can try to find an addapter but it still isnt going to give you your dtc codes.

depending on the scanner you may need an adapter but i'm pretty sure it's under the dash about where you shifter is. hope this helps

do you have an obdII scanner? if im not mistaken, the obdII's werent required until 1995 and later. So maybe your truck was born in 1994 and have the obdI.

Some of those trucks had the plug and even had wires running to them but they are still OBDI. If that is the case then you need an adapter I think Been a long time so can't remember for sure....

The mfg date is 3/95 and the scan tool is a Innova model #3143 it came w/the truck and the package includes 1995 diesel for scan capability. If it's the connector mounted at the bottom of the dash and is black with blue connectors holding the wiring into it then my scan tool will not fit. This tool has 3 1/4" wide blades and another off to one side. The connection under the dash looks like it takes much smaller pins or blades....Grrrrrrrr....foiled again!
