No power
Ok well today i was driving my truck and all of a sudden i had NO power, i had the pedal to the floor and my speed was only staying constant and my check engine light came on. It happened like 2 days ago and i thought it was the CPS so i changed it but it did it again today so any other suggestions? Maybe the CPS i got was a bad one?

Get a code reader to find out what the codes are. It might give you a better idea of what's wrong. Throwing parts at it can get expensive.

and as always check air and fuel filters and such

a bad CPS doesn't cause that kind of problem. i had the same symptoms a few months ago on my 96er. i had a bad IDM, i suggest starting there.

Ok, sorry i left out a little Info. in the original post, if i come to a stop the truck in like 3 seconds and the check engine light goes away. I tried to put a scanner on it and when i did the truck died before i could read the codes so no codes came up. If i stop and turn the truck back in it works fine, and stays fine for a day or so (or atleast it did last time).

CHECK THE ENG HARNESS WERE IT COMES OVER THE LEFT VALVE COVER, IT MIGHT BE RUBBING. MINE DID THE SAME THING. ALSO CHECK THE HARNESS TO THE VALVE COVER GASKETS, TO MAKE SURE THEY HAVENT FRIED OR CAME LOOSE.WHEN MINE DID THIS THE WIRES WERE BARELY RUBBING THE VALVE COVER CAUSING NO POWER CEL AND MISSING.
