I've got a 95 psd, last spring went to start it one day and it wouldn't fire, changed the IPR valve,1 burnt valve cover gasket, both under cover harnesses,1 external harness end,GPR,IDM,CPS,crank it for 20 seconds at a time for 3 or 4 times, meanwhile my shop fills with white smoke,it finally starts and idles fine just like you just shut it off. Then when you do shut it off "even if it's warmed up", if you start it right away it takes 5 seconds or so ,if it sits for 5 minutes you have to crank and crank again, Any suggestions???

sounds like something with the fuel system to me, possibly bad lift pump or something letting it bleed the fuel back

Have you checked the HPOP
How do you check the hpop?

pull the plug on the top of the HPOP and see if there is oil close to the top. if there isn't oil to the top then your IPR might be bad. check the oil in the HPOP. Make sure it is in good shape not to thick
