Ticking on acceleration

Hey there, long time reader 1st time poster, but heres the deal, ive always had a Ticking on acceleration and its usually only when i hammer down, it sounds like an exhaust leak, but when i put it in park and rev it, i dont hear the ticking, so if anyone has any info id very much appreciate it. thanks in advance!

sounds like an exhaust leak to me. you dont hear it when in N because you dont have that mutch back pressure. but when you get on it you start to build boost and then you start to build more back pressure. you should look under the hood to see if you can see black build up at any connections.

I agree, I had the exact ticking you are talking about. didnt hear it neutral. only under load. took it to the local diesel shop and sure enough it was the pass. side exhaust manifold leaking. only took them a few minutes to pinpoint the leak and give me an answer on where it was

Had the same problem. The leak was caused by a broken bolt at the rear of the drivers side manifold.
