E-BRAKE LIGHT????

Ive been forgetting to post this up but this has been an ongoing problem for awhile now. i always set my parking brake when i leave the truck and off course the light comes on obviously, get in truck start it the lights on obviously you release the brake and the light goes off right??? nope. it seems it has a mind of its own i can relaease mine the light will turn off and then at complete random the light comes back on and off. now its reallly just an annoying thing BUT when im on long trips using cruise control cruisin at 75mph the light will come on and shut down the c.c. which wastes fuel and is reeeaaaaal annoying so is there anyway to fix this??? basically it has a mind of its own

There is probably a switch down on the e-brake assembly. Maybe it's loose or needs to be replaced.

Brake Light

Try disconnecting the wire that goes to the parking brake switch. It should only be a one wire connectro dowa at the parking brake pedal.
If the light still comes on, there is most likely a problem with the ABS system.
I am not at home now and will not be home for a few months, other wise I could get to my referance materal, and give you some further diognostic help.

Good luck

Rick
