Question Pushing brake pedal turns radio on with ignition off

Hey guys,

I can't seem to figure this one out. I found that in my 96 F350 the radio will turn on when I depress the brake pedal when the truck is turned off. Radio works fine when the ignition is on. I have been having some issues with the torque converter coming unlocked randomly. Any chance they are related? I know the brake circuit has a lot to do with transmission control.

Thanks

You have a ground issue under your dash. The rule I've always gone by. If it doesn't make sense, it's a ground. I had a similar issue with my SD, after my dash swap I had no gauges, unless I was on the brake, then they all came to life.

I'm not familiar with the under-dash of an OBS but I would start at the switch on the pedal and go from there

On most of the 7.3 trucks and really most autos, tapping the break will unlock the TC

Back in the days when I worked at ford the mlp would do that when it was bad or out of adjustment. Big bulk connector on the transmission with 2 bolts holding it in.
