Need help with Overdrive Question....

Hi All,

I got a 1995 powerstroke turbo diesel and my abs light has been on for awhile....ABS sensor was changed but speedo is still jumpy and my overdrive light flashes (Off) on the column ....When it does this the truck spikes rpms but doesn't go any faster and also jumps in and out of gear where it bangs bad.....if I turn truck off and start again it goes away then re-surfaces.....Has this happened to anyone or could help me how to fix this??? I live in the Hartford CT area and if I can't do it myself , need a good recommendation for a mechanic....Thanks all

If by "ABS sensor", you mean the VSS, it could be the tone ring that the VSS interfaces with. If there's crud between the notches on it, or if the diff fluid is nasty, it can cause the VSS to "misread" and send a jumpy signal to the PSOM/PCM. That would def. cause a tranny code.
