Have you tried opening the fuel filter drain valve? (located at the top of the engine, a yellow valve, only req. a quarter turn to open)

I cannot find the posting but there was a thread where someone described how to place a hose on the outlet port to keep the fuel from hitting the ground.

I had water in the fuel on a 96 e350 and had to leave the drain valve open, with a catch pan, and cranked over the engine and let it idle until the light goes out. Then closed it back up and have had no further problemswith water.

You can also add the proper amount of Power Service (avail at walmart and autozone). Run out the current tank of fuel, then replace the fuel filter (both if it has two).

My 05 would do this same exact thing, only on right hand turns. Ended draining the water seperator and replacing the fuel filter on the rail (below driver's door). After this the sporadic sputtering of the motor went away and so did the light.

Send a message via AIM to Maintain
Just stick some hose on the tube and route it to a can.
